YouTuber. Just saying the word feels strange. I have never considered being one. It’s for the cool kids, vloggers or those with a specific talent. But when I decided to revive the pursesandpugs blog, my vision was to create lighthearted, informative and visual blog posts about fashion, handbags and accessories, and a YouTube channel is the perfect complement. Especially for the Reviews and What’s in my bag series that I plan for this blog, because videos are more honest compared to pictures taken at a certain angle and you get a better impression. It can even be more entertaining.

Let’s say you’re on the hunt for a new handbag, but you can’t go into an actual store and inspect it yourself because you don’t have that kind of store nearby or the bag is no longer in production. If you’re like me, you’ll be scrutinizing the internet to find all the information you possible can, obsessing like a maniac. And if you can find a review of the bag on a blog, then great. If you can find a review of the bag on YouTube as well, even better!

This YouTube thing definitely brings me out of my comfort zone though. I am not a person who is comfortable in front of the camera, English is not my mother tongue and hearing my own voice makes me shiver. Hopefully I will get used to it, because I am an all or nothing person. Either you do it properly or you don’t do it at all. Major pressure on myself here and lots of work ahead, but it will be fun!

What you may not know is that I actually created a YouTube channel back in 2010! I can’t even remember why, but I did upload two videos of my pug, Jimmi. So while I’m working on new videos, which (let’s be honest) can take a while, you can have a look at my first video posted 7 years ago of an annoyed Jimmi snapping at insects. Enjoy, and don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel!

Oh, and if you have any great tips for a YT newbie I would love to hear. Since I have to figure it all out from scratch (especially the editing part) it can help me get those videos up faster.
