Strolling around in Paris
I love café life and people watching, but I also love strolling around in Paris and just looking at what this beautiful city has to offer.
I love to walk around and admire the classic Parisian buildings with the pretty French balconies. Taking in the everyday life atmosphere that includes Parisians with a baguette under their arm (so cliché, but true!), tourists with their cameras (us!), artists laying their work on the ground for sale, and people having a café au lait.
Cafés on every corner
It seems there is a cute café on every corner where people sit outside, enjoying a drink and chit chat. To be honest I wanted to sit down at every single one, just because it looks so darn cozy, and on holiday I’m always thirsty for a coffee or a glass of wine. Café life is definitely the best in Paris. And after a long walk, and maybe some shopping and sightseeing, nothing is better than sitting down and doing some serious people watching. Because there is such a variety here, and I love that.
Parisian chic and tourists
Paris is full of chic ladies (and gentlemen). It’s a mystery to me how they can look so effortlessly elegant and stylish without necessarily following any trends. It looks like they get out of bed, throw on the first thing they see in their closet, put on some red lipstick and voilà: ready to go. And maybe they do? Either way, I guess this is the definition of “Parisian chic”. You can’t put your finger on exactly what it is that makes someone Parisian chic, they just are. I love it.
And of course, there are plenty of tourists as well. No matter when you are in Paris, the city is invaded by tourists. Including us! I don’t know if we looked like obvious tourists (at least we didn’t wear a backpack back to front) unless we opened our mouths and stuttered something in poor French that quickly turned into English. I’ve said in many times. I NEED to learn French! Seriously. I’m clueless and it really bothers me.
